Multimeter on the relay
We pull the start relay before the fridge is even moved. If it rattles, it's done. If resistance is open, we know in 90 seconds what the problem is.

Manifold gauge set on the service port. Low side pressure tells us if the compressor is pumping, if the metering device is blocked, or if there's a leak in the circuit.
